The mod doesn't always work and the AI will get your cav stuck or something but it's better for me than leaving the thing sitting in the corner or just not recruiting it when I'm sick of them. Sometimes I burn out on the number of battles in a campaign-especially these annoying easily winnable but auto wants to kill 3/4 of your archers and artillery as if the enemy army walked in a circle around your melee line. Put the noncritical on AI control to get a little use out of them and micro whatever is going to do the lions share of the killing or protect the army. I use it for varying reasons- but often it's because auto resolve is full of shit and I'm just trying to rush through a manual battle to circumvent the massive casualties from AR.
